In The Midst of A Mess, or At The Brink of Breakthrough?

I am challenged today on a subject that a friend and I were talking about the other night.  I think I have touched on this before but in a different aspect.  As I sit here writing I'm not sure I even know where to begin.  How many times do we focus on the mess we are in instead of the breakthrough on the horizon and the destination we see up ahead? In my devotional time this morning I was reminded to put on the Armor of God (Ephesians 6).  I was challenged to "take up the shield of faith which can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one." (ESV vs 16) The lie of the enemy keeps us focused on our mess.  If you knew that you couldn't fail because the armor of God would give you everything you need for Life and Godliness? Would you put it on? As I continued to seek the Lord this morning he again reminded me to walk boldly into the unknown.  Sometimes in the midst of the mess all we have to do is take that first step into the unknown and out of the mess.  That first step is refocusing and getting sound wisdom from a mentor or a coach.  In this aspect if your mess is the habits you have created and your health is the biproduct of it, reach out your hand, my husband and I would love to assist you to where you want to be.  We will help you reset your focus and guide you to that breakthrough and into who you are called to be.  We invite you today to know and be known as Victorious as the one who holds you in the palm of your hand.  All it takes is making the decision to not stay in your mess and allow the Lord to create beauty from where the choices you may have made in the past took you.  He makes all things new (Revelation 21:5), desires for you to be ALL he has called and created you to be, and know your worth so you can walk worthy of the calling to which you have been called. (Ephesians 4:1)

Husband and Wife Down 103 lbs
The Buddy System

By: Ronnie Austin Brammer

The afternoon was simply beautiful for an adventure.  After yesterdays rain, the eight mile hike strapped down with a fifty pound pack, and dragging students by their belt loops up the trail, I needed the alone time.  So, I took off deep into the woods.  The path was easy enough following the deer tracks to the aspen grove, but then there was the wall.  What man in the woods seeing a twenty foot rock face cannot do anything short of scaling it?  So, I did.  I was latterly on top of the world, or close to it.  There was a summit, and the sun was shining on it.  I had to be in that patch of sun.  Once, I was there I laid down to soak up the vitamin D and contemplate.  We all know where this story goes.  I woke up from a chill.  The sun was going down, panic set in, and the questions started.  Which part of these rocks did I go down?  Is this the right Aspen grove?  Where is that deer trail?  I was lost, and very irritated at myself.  I knew better.  I’ve been told it by my mom and elementary school teachers my whole life.  ‘Don’t go out alone after dark’ and ‘look at your friends and see your future’.  The military has ‘battle buddies’, ‘wing men’, and ‘shipmates’. From field trips to summer camp I was taught to use the buddy system.

The truth is we were made to partner together to achieve what our creator has intended for us.  We are many parts of one body.  It is not good for us to be alone.  We know this.  The why do we think we can stand alone when it comes to breakthrough? Arrogance? Pride? Shame? Guilt?

Ecclesiastes 4:12 ‘Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.  A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.’

We make a decision to change because of how we fell.  The emotional conflict drives us to change.  That’s fine till the road gets tough, we get distracted, and we get lost.  It’s hard to convince yourself to break that habit, make that choice, or hold captive that thought when we only have ourselves to answer to.  The fetter that bonds us just looks so good and has become so comfortable.  The emotional conflict lessens, we compromise, and our emotional intelligent tells us to keep it a secret.  What then?  Swallow your pride, lay down your shame, and break off those chains.  There is freedom in Christ.  He directs our path.  Our buddies keep us on the path.  We make the choice daily to move forward.  A three cord strand is not quickly broken.

If YOU could CHOOSE Optimal Health in Your life, would YOU want IT?

If you could choose optimal health in your life, would you want it? That seems like such an obvious question at first glance, doesn't it? I mean, who wouldn't want optimal health? Given the choice, who wouldn't want to be healthy - or even more than healthy, optimally healthy?

The reality is that we CAN choose optimal health, but some of us won't. It's not that we can't have it, but that we'll choose to not have it. We have all we need to create optimal health in our lives right now: we have the program, Take Shape for Life, which includes the Habits of Health, the support and guidance of a free health coach, and is fueled by Medifast meal replacements which has a proven track record of over 30 years - everything we need to be successful. But some of us will choose to get in the way of our own success by allowing our past failures or our own concepts or fears to get in the way. The only thing standing between us and achieving optimal health is, well, us.

Some of us will choose the path of immediate gratification, succumbing to numerous triggers along the way. We have good intentions, but vacations, celebrations, parties, stress, a busy schedule, etc. etc. get us off track and we make choices that won't keep us moving in the direction of optimal health.

One of the things I've learned is that if we want something bad enough, we'll figure out what we need to do to get it. My question for you today is simple: What do you really want? Do you really want optimal health - living as long as you can as healthy as you can? If so, you have in your hands all of the tools that you need to get it. There really isn't anything to even figure out, because all of the figuring out has already been done! All we have to do is commit to eating every 3 hours and we will get to our goal, which is an important milestone on our optimal health journey. From there, we continue to add other healthy habits that keep us moving in the direction we want to go. It's pretty simple if we just take it one step at a time.

The good news is that you don't have to commit to doing this for a lifetime - you just have to commit to making healthy choices today. Can you do that? If so, maybe you can do that tomorrow, too, and then maybe even the day after that! You don't have to worry about whether you can do this tomorrow or the day after that, you just have to commit to today - one meal at a time.

Are you committed to pursuing optimal health in your life today? The choice is yours . . if you want health today call me let's get you on your path to where you want and desire to be.

Why Exercise WON'T work
My brothers best friend cut his exercise in half  during the month of December and dropped 22 lbs.
Although exercise is rewarding and makes you feel good it isn't the solution to the weight loss problem.  Here is why:
When you take in more calories that you expend, the excess gets stored as fat-3,500 calories in one pound (of fat). Eating just 100 extra calories a day, beyond what your body needs, translates into 36,500 calories of excess energy over the course of a year. Even if your body stores only 1/2 of that, the result is over 5 extra pounds of fat a year!

You can try to burn those excess calories through exercie alone. But in order to burn JUST ONE pound of fat you'd have to run 33.8 miles!!! Just for one pound. And nearly 1/3 of us have an extra 30 lbs of fat. To burn that much, you'd have to run 1,040 miles, the equivalent of 40 marathons.  I use the Take Shape for Life Program b/c it puts my clients into a controlled fat-burning state that offloads 2-4lbs of fat per week. That's 7,000-14,000 calories of unheathly fat removed weekly. So then once that fat is gone your body is a much more effecient machine to work toward your goal.

I would love to assist you towards your health goals. Message me for details and check out my website at www.longevitybychoice.tsfl.com.

Stop. Challenge. Choose.
As a health coach I get the privelage of walking beside people and taking them from where they are to where they want to be in their life.  I never imagined the people I would meet or the relationships I would get to build but here I am on the most amazing adventure of my life.  One of my most favorite things to coach someone through is called Stop Challenge Choose.  To some of you those might be just words, but for me it is the throught process I go through when I'm about to make any decsion.  I Stop myself, evalute what it is I am about to do.  Challenge my thoughts and determine if what I am about to do is going to move me forward in my health and life, keep me where I'm at, or take me a step back.  Not always do I make the best assessment but as I put this into practice more and more I begin to choose the outcome that supports my goals.  I encourage you today to put this into practice in your daily life.  It is a way to create health not only in one are of your life, but whatever you put your hands and feet to.

I like to look at it from a biblical standpoint as well, and when I do this is what the Lord reminds me to do.
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete. 2 Corinthians 10:5-6

Does the Lord lead you to the desert?
Huge thing stirring in my heart today. Would love to hear your thoughts. Yesterday I was talking with a friend and she said "I feel like the Lord is leading me into a desert."  I challenge that thought. Does the Lord really lead us into a desert or is that the "Christian" way of saying things aren't going my way? Humor me and imagine a desert. What do you see? Okay now that you have yours pictured lets be honest a desert doesn't have water.  There is no food in the desert.  There is a lot of heat there I think too right. From my perspective its not a very life giving place in all actuality NOTHING lives in the desert except bugs. So are we using the desert phrase to put the blame on Him instead of our own personal choices? Does He really lead us to a place of dryness? Is he not a God where the Living Water dwells and the bread of life is to be found? I find this totally contradicting and quite honestly am tired of living my life in that mentality. His word is alive and active in me! His LIVING WATER flows through ME! His Power rests upon me! I am not nor ever will be in a desert because I have resided that I am of HIS KINGDOM and there is NO desert there! What Kingdom have you resided that you are a part of? Fight with the weapons of the Kingdom of God today for they alone have the power to break every stronghold in your life today.
